Female Cops

This is a tragedy but not an unexpected one.

Just about any man can overpower just about any woman. This is just a matter of biology. Women go through the police academy, get a badge and a gun and expect those items to keep them safe.

I'll be the FIRST to admit, that a gun can be a great equalizer when it comes to an attack against a man. However, this police officer could not have had her gun out while handcuffing the rape suspect that ultimately shot her with her own gun.

Why would she not call for backup. The man she arrested basically had nothing to lose in the struggle so he put up a fight. She should have anticipated this and called for backup. I'm not saying it's HER FAULT but she is partly responsible for her own death since she willingly put her self in the situation. Obviously the suspect is responsible for his own actions.

As I've previously written though, total culpability can be 100% for each party involved rather than just 100% for the incident.

Achmed The Dead Terrorist

This is really, really funny. But don't take my word for it. Watch it!

Approaching A Checkpoint

Some time in the next couple of days, I expect that my Sitemeter will hit an even 50,000.
Now I realize that for some blog (*cough* VOX *cough*) that's nothing but for my humble little corner of the blogosphere, that's quite an achievement.

Truth be told, I expected to hit this mark quite a while back, but I really slacked off my blogging from the days when I was averaging 100+ visitors a day. Back then I was also commenting on lots of different blogs, I'd get traffic from that.

Now most of my traffic comes from the regular readers I have left (THANK YOU ALL) and the Google search hits I get from various topics.

I'm also nearing the 3 year mark of my blog (March 20th). Averaged out over time (rounded to 3 years), puts me at 45 hits a day on my blog. Fairly respectable for a semi-anonymous nobody spewing his thoughts and opinions in to an oceanic collection of other spewings.

Death Of A Champion

Bobby Fischer, often thought of as the greatest chess champion ever known is dead at the age of 64.

On the one hand, we've lost a genius, on the other hand, we've lost a man who thought 9/11 was a good thing and hated Jews.

I guess I have mixed feelings about the whole thing; his skill was obviously quite enviable but his views overshadowed his genius.

Goodbye Bobby Fischer, there will never be another one quite like you!

A Loss Of Respect

My respect for Ann Coulter has taken a bit of hit. In her column today, she endored Mitt Romney for President.

Ugh. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Despite her rantings against the Bush administration, she is, in essence an establishment Republican.

Oh well.
